BEFORE

AFTER
In the context of this workshop, teshuvah goes
beyond its traditional definition of "repentance"
and is instead reframed as a return to one’s
true self—the divine, whole, and pure essence
that trauma, abuse, or negative experiences may
have obscured.
Teshuvah in this sense is:
1) A Journey of Self-Repair:
Healing the fragmented parts of oneself caused by past pain and reuniting them into a harmonious whole.
2) A Return to Love and Trust:
Rekindling self-love and self-trust, which are innate qualities we lose sight of when shaped by trauma or external narratives.
3) A Reconnection to Inner Divinity:
Realigning with the part of yourself that reflects the divine spark, recognizing that no matter what you’ve experienced, your core self is pure and unbroken.
4) A Commitment to Transformation:
Taking personal responsibility for rewriting your
story and creating a new, empowered reality moving forward.
This definition acknowledges that while traditional teshuvah is often about repairing our relationship with G-d and others, here it also includes repairing the relationship with ourselves— a process of deep introspection, self-compassion, and empowerment. It emphasizes that healing is not just possible but is your birthright as someone created b’tzelem Elokim (in the image of G-d).
Healing and Resilience: Learn to heal from trauma and build resilience.
Self-Love and Trust: Reconnect with your divine essence and trust yourself.
Reignite: A Transformational Initiative for Jewish Women's Healing & Empowerment is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
